Wells and Bath - Formal and Bandstand - our first tour as an independent band

We undertook our first move away from the safety of Kent and Sussex, visiting
Wells and Bath for a weekend in May.

From Tonbridge to Somerset and back - two concerts and a "certain" amount of socialising as a band....
It was good to see band members having the chance to mix a little more than the short forays to the local
allows after rehearsals. The photos below are meant to represent the
mixture of business and pleasure - any bias toward the latter is purely accidental....

    Seeing Wells.

Our time off was spent freely. The Cathedral was a hot spot for many, but there was also some feeding to do.
After all, it had been three and a half hours since we had a massive lunch at the hotel!

Yes, it was a little drizzly. In fact, there was a time when we thought it was going to

  • Once again, the time before the concert in the bandstand gave us an opportunity to look round Bath.

For some of the band, this seemed to involve messing about in boats.

Others took shelter inside the extremely impressive Bath Abbey.

Then it was time to brave the elements, and perform to our sell-out audience...

... while the unlucky band members at the front got wetter and wetter... but at least the ducks seemed to be enjoying the concert.
