Hadlow Church, December
Our first concert as independent Bacchus
at St. Mary's Church, Hadlow was on December 2nd 2006.
It was a great success - thanks to all who helped, in the band and in
the town of Hadlow!

Sevenoaks Vine Bandstand June
We performed
a bandstand concert
on June 24th as part of the Sevenoaks Festival.
This was at the Vine Bandstand and was sponsored by
Sevenoaks Town Council
under the banner "The Band Plays On".
Brighton And Hove City Council Events
We also performed an
"on the patio" concert
in Brighton on Sunday July 1st.
This concert was sponsored by
Brighton and Hove City Council
and was on the patio of the
Pavilion Gardens Cafe
Hadlow Church, December
This was our second concert at St. Mary's where, once again, we were
given an enthusiastic welcome, and lots of support from Hadlow
and beyond.
The concert was dedicated to Peter Warner, a former band member,
and raised money for WWF

Eastbourne Bandstand June
Our first visit to the impressive bandstand on the
Grand Parade at Eastbourne
was blessed with a decent Summer's day (at last!) and an enthusiastic audience.
This was one of many concerts staged at The Bandstand over the summer -
the enthusiast of Wind and Brass band music is encouraged to support this
magnificent series, sponsored by
Eastbourne Borough Council
Sevenoaks Vine Bandstand June
Our second visit to Sevenoaks Vine
was less plagued by rain. However...
We were once again joining in the series of concerts staged under the banner
"The Band Plays On", as part of the Sevenoaks Summer Festival and sponsored
by
Sevenoaks Town Council
Brighton Pavilion Lawns July
This year, our visit to Brighton Pavilion Lawns
found us under the trees, sheltered from the sun, wind, threat of rain - oh!
and the pigeons!
Thankyou
Brighton and Hove City Council
for sponsoring us again.
Concert at Judd School November
This was the first collaboration concert with players from Judd School. For the
end of Judd's Music Department Concert, we were given a slot - first on our own,
playing March and Procession of Bacchus by Delibes, then joined by a dozen or so
Judd players in a performance of Folk Song Suite for Military Band, by Vaughan
Williams.
We got some very positive feedback from Judd, and both parties are keen to build
on the successes of this first venture. Some of those Judd musicians joined us again
at our 20th Anniversary Concert at St Stephen's Church on December 6th.
Concert at St Stephen's Church, Tonbridge, December
Our 20th Anniversary Concert at St. Stephen's Church was
undoubtedly our most ambitious concert to date.
We were able to celebrate 20 years of Bacchus.
We were joined by several young performers from Judd School.
And the joint venture with St Stephen's Church enabled us to support their Shaping Up project.
By the way, we also enjoyed performing!

Wells and Bath Mini-tour, May 16th and 17th
We
disappeared
to Wells and Bath for a weekend of playing and socialising.
This was our first journey out of Kent and Sussex since we became an independent
band - a great time was had by all, including, we hope, Pat, who put a lot of effort
into making the affair work so smoothly.
Somerset! All we ask is a bit more sunshine next time!
Greenwich Park Bandstand, June
14th
Bacchus 'went to town' for a Royal Park concert.
The sun shone and the hats and suncream were brought to the fore!

Sevenoaks Vine Bandstand, June 21st
Our third visit to Sevenoaks Vine
was on a beautiful midsummer's day.
This was day two
of the Sevenoaks Summer Festival (sponsored
by
Sevenoaks Town Council ) and the audience
turned out in force to support the event. Click

2010
Tonbridge School, February 27th
Our first visit to this venue was a most enjoyable experience.
The programme included Bacchus on Blue Ridge, by Horovitz,
from which the band draws its name.
Although the band has been in existence for a number of years, this
was our first concert performance of this fantastic work.
CD recording, Guildhall School
of Music and Drama, March 7th
A fantastic experience for all involved.
We recorded a number of works, including the
Horovitz mentioned above, but also Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet
and Gregson's Festivo. The CD should be available to buy
later this year.
Brighton Pavilion Lawns,
June 13th
Yet again our visit to Brighton Pavilion Lawns
found us under the trees,
sheltered from the sun and wind (indeed, slightly frozen) but
completely defenceless as regards the pigeons...
Sevenoaks Vine Bandstand, June 20th
Our third visit to Sevenoaks Vine saw a slight rise in temperature
from the previous week -
some band members even managed to remove their gloves.
Greenwich Royal Park June 27th
Bacchus set out to prove that firstly the British summer weather can
be somewhat variable:
from freezing to baking in two weeks - and also that there are better
things in life than watching football!
